The Joey Puhalski Memorial Softball Tournament serves as a celebration of Joey’s passion for sports and his unwavering dedication to Special Olympics. Joey, who was a cherished member of the Bright Christian Church and worked at LaRosa’s in Lawrenceburg for 17 years, was actively involved in our local program. His enthusiasm extended beyond softball to various other sports, including track and field, basketball, corn toss, volleyball, powerlifting, and flag football. Joey’s love for sports was evident during his weekly bowling nights with his Special Olympics friends.

Team Classifications: Traditional, Unified Play, Designated Pitch
- Level 1 – High: plays by regulation rules; high to excellent skills and athleticism; implements strategies; several players hit with power; reacts to the way the other team plays; competent fielders; aggressive base running.
- Level 2 – Average: plays by regulation rules; average skills and athleticism; some strategy; a few players hit with power; defense depends on a few key players; most base runners require coach to say when to
- Level 3 – Low: following rules is a challenge; low skills and athleticism; little strategy; a few players can hit the ball out of infield or reliably catch a fly ball; defense depends on one or two key players; base runners
Sportsmanship Award: An athlete will be recognized for his/her sportsmanship at the end of each game.
Awards Ceremonies: On the field immediately after medal games.
Souvenir T-Shirt: Each participant will receive an official Joey Puhalski Memorial Softball Tournament t-shirt.
First Aid: Available on site.
Athlete Medical Forms: Coaches are responsible for having access to athletes medicals.
Concessions: Concessions will be available throughout the day.
Participant Lunch: A lunch voucher will be provided for each participant registered, including coaches.

Team Registration Fee: $50 per team.
Space Is Limited: Registration will be accepted on a space availability basis.
