Indiana’s Champions Will Soon Be Revealed

The 2016 Special Olympics Indiana Summer Games will showcase the awe-inspiring abilities of athletes with intellectual disabilities, promote the ideals of acceptance and inclusion through sport and celebrate the transformative power of Special Olympics.

Lives will be forever changed. New friendships will be made, while old friendship will be rekindled. Hope will triumph into victory. The spirit of champions will be unveiled.

2,500 Athletes; 1,100 Coaches & Chaperones; 1,200 Event Volunteers; 3,000 Spectators & Families

Indiana State University, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Collet Park, Terre Haute Bowling Center and Vigo Bowling Center – Terre Haute, IN

Aquatics, Bocce, Bowling, Cycling, Horseshoes, Powerlifting, Track & Field, and Volleyball

LAW ENFORCEMENT TORCH RUN | June 10 | Gibson Track

Law Enforcement representatives statewide carry the Special Olympics Flame of Hope that will be used to light the cauldron at Opening Ceremonies.

VIP RECEPTION | June 10 | Hulman Center

SO Indiana Board of Directors members invite Sponsors and Special Guests to a reception in their honor from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. where the Games Honorary Chair will speak.

OPENING CEREMONIES | June 10 | Hulman Center

Parade of Athletes & Entertainment Lighting the Special Olympics Cauldron to open the Games Begins at 7:00 p.m.

THE ADRENALINE ZONE | June 10 – 12 | Olympic Town

Enormous center of activities for athletes to begin their quest of getting healthier.

OLYMPIC TOWN | June 10 – 12

A variety of different health-related, entertainment, educational, food, and activity boots will fill the area including The Adrenaline Zone and Souvenirs.

HEALTHY ATHLETES | June 10 – 11 | Olympics Town

Free health screenings and educational sessions.

STRIVE | June 10 – 11 | Olympic Town

A first of its kind sports assessment and nutrition education program designed to help athletes stay active, healthy and achieve their personal best.

MOVIE NIGHT | June 11 | Hulman Memorial Student Union Food Court

Athletes have the opportunity to go to the movies with all the amenities including popcorn and refreshment.

FESTIVAL OF CHAMPIONS | June 11

Enjoy an evening of dancing, entertainment, and activities.
