Open/Close Menu Special Olympics Indiana provides year rounds sports training and competition for men, women and children with intellectual disabilities.

Presented by Pacers Sports & Entertainment

Another new opportunity to stay active and compete from home, Special Olympics Indiana invites athletes across the state to take part in the 2021 Spring into Fitness Challenge, presented by Pacers Sports & Entertainment.

CHALLENGE OVERVIEW:

Dates: March 7, 2021 – April 17, 2021

Participants must team-up with one other person to create a pair for this challenge. Each person is challenged to complete a total of 1000 minutes of intentional fitness activity and 100 health & wellbeing activities throughout the 6-week competition.

Participants can choose any fitness activity they like. Examples include but are not limited to: walking, running, rolling, swimming, cycling, working out, and more. Only minutes of intentional fitness activity count. So walking while at a job would NOT count, but taking a walk around your neighborhood after work would be acceptable.

Participants may utilize the Spring Into Fitness Challenge Individual Scorecard to keep track of their total minutes of activity and number of health & wellbeing activities. Do NOT submit this scorecard for results.

For results, each participant will submit…

    • Total minutes of intentional fitness activity
    • Total number of health & wellbeing activities

Participant totals will NOT be added together. Awards will be based on EACH participants totals. BOTH participants will receive the award for the lowest level achieved. For example, if one person hits the requirement for gold, but the other person only hits the requirement for silver, BOTH participants will earn a silver medal. See the awards section for more info.

RESULTS:

Deadline: Monday, April 26 by 5pm ET

Results ONLY accepted through the e-form below.

Individual scorecards will NOT be accepted for results.

AWARDS

BOTH participants must hit the requirements below to earn that award. For example, if Suzie does 1000 minutes of fitness activity and 100 health & wellbeing activities, but her teammate John only does 750 minutes of fitness activity and 100 health & wellbeing activities, BOTH of them would earn silver medals.

Custom medals will be created for this challenge.

    • Gold = 1000 minutes of fitness activity + 100 health & wellbeing activities
    • Silver = 750 minutes of fitness activity + 100 health & wellbeing activities
    • Bronze = 600 minutes of fitness activity + 100 health & wellbeing activities

For perspective, 1000 minutes of fitness activity breaks out into about 30 minutes of fitness activity per day, 5 days per week. 100 health & wellbeing activities amounts to about 3 health & wellbeing activities per day, 5 days per week.
